Carnaval. The water wars start in January and last until March...for most of Bolivia. For those of us here at the Baby Home, there's still no end in sight.
These two lovely ladies are tias at the Baby Home...not sure how many battles we've had at this point, but between them and a few beloved volunteers, we've had countless days and nights of buckets dumped from balconies, completely drenched clothes, and wet wipeouts both indoors and out. Recently, Kristin, Pauline, and I headed out to these two ladies' houses for lunch, and as we were hanging out in the gardens, we got sneak-attacked by not only these two, but also their husbands and children, all armed with waterballoons, hoses, and full tubs of water. It was high time something was done about that.
So we called in back-up.
Over Christmas, we received a wonderful donation of a pool for the kiddos!! And finally, today, it was put to good use.
"Helping us out with a project."
...and our special helper #2.
To the poooool!!
I never escape though.
When we finish our offiicial business, we usually then allow the children to have some fun, too. :)
...and fun was had by all!
Thank you to everyone who was a part of giving us a pool!
