Yesterday was a fun one here at the baby home, as we welcomed two new babies into the house!
Meet the new boy! About 2 mos, chubby and adorable! He came to us after being abandoned on the doorsteps of another home for older children in the city.
Adelaida's bath-time initiation :)
So happy to be here!
Our second delivery of the day unfortunately has a bit more of a dramatic background. She came to us from the hospital, admitted after her parents physically abused her. Here is a picture of her in the hospital - besides her yucky-looking skin infection, she had two broken femurs and a cranial fracture. Here we see lots of diversity with the situations in which parents give up their children, and sometimes these situations are more understandable than others. Physical child abuse is something that I just don't understand though.
Baby girl, 1 month
Yesterday she was released from the hospital. While her current treatments are only for the skin infection, with a house full of toddlers, we're being extra careful with this sweet girl.

Bringing her home from the hospital
Prayers for a strong recovery would be wonderful. We've had cases where child abuse has left long-term effects on our kiddos, (See this story: http://hogardeamor.blogspot.com/2008/07/praise-lord-for-ornery-chickens.html ). We hope that this won't be the case with this girlie, and for now, we're happy to watch her grow!
