These 2 are our oldest at the Baby Home, and it's likely that they'll move on up to House 2 (for our older children,) by the end of the year. Because these two may not transition quite as easily as some of our others have, we're getting their feet wet now with regular visits down the road to Casa 2.
familiar faces
This week we went over on September 21st, which is a big holiday in Bolivia - It's the equivalent of Valentine's Day, combined with Friendship Day, Student Day, 1st Day of Spring, Doctor Day, etc, etc, etc...basically every holiday wrapped into one! Needless to say, when we arrived, the kids were pretty pumped up with all of the goodies they had gotten at school that day!
Coloring with the big girls
These two are the same age and looked like sisters today with their matching hair-do's! Note - girl on the left refused to smile after having to say "Thank you" at snack time. Life is so hard. Also note the corn on the cob in the pic. Sweet.
We leave right before bedtime, when our doorman here sees us off. :)
I've been following the Casa de Amour blog for many months now, and just began following yours.
ReplyDeleteI am always struck by how clean and happy and so very well cared for the kids look.
It's never what I picture when I think of an orphanage or children's home especially in less fortunate countries.
Seeing those beautiful kiddos smiling so brightly always makes my day :o)
Thanks for posting so many pictures!
Yes, thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the girls over to CDA II so frequently for us! I feel they will have a smooth adjustment, especially with all the visits!
