Last week, the oldest 7 kids in the Baby Home and I went with a couple of families from school and Mateo and the boys from his home to spend the day at Pairumani Park! Pairumani is similar to a state park- it's big and beautiful, and we had a perfect, sunny day to spend there! Our kids had a BLAST playing outside from morning until evening, just running around, getting dirty, and having fun.
These 2 monkeys climbed allll over the jungle gym!
Playing in the creek...all 7 could have done this alllllllll day long!
Good company...the boys from Mateo's home, (dressed up for church later on that night!) They were so sweet to our kids.
The oldest strategize for the world's greatest game...Capture the Flag
lunch break - just posing for the camera.
Haaaaaaaa this kid has a way with people like you wouldn't believe. I watched him walk throughout the park, passing by other families - he has this cheesy smile that everyone in the world falls for, and resultantly, just by walking past these families and smiling, sometimes giving a little wave, he collected more food than you could possibly imagine. He came away with, among other things, a Coke, an ice cream cone, and a bag of fruit. Gifted, I tell you. He also has an actual bottomless pit for a stomach. He eats EVERYTHING and would eat all day every day if we would let him!
The latest prize - a popsicle that he decided to hold from the wrong end. Score.
We hiked up to a spot with a great view of the city. High time this kid got a little exercise after eating all of the food in the entire park.
The guys from Mateo's home have a new parachute to play with, thanks to the legend, Mrs. Heather Maginn. She should be so proud that after having the parachute since maybe JANUARY, her son finally remembered to give it to the kids. Well done, Mateo. We're all proud, really.
The kids thought it was a LOT of fun, for sure!
Parachute games
After a long day of play, we took some of the older kids to the evening service at church and then all crashed for the night! Fun times.
Last thought - when given a sheet of stickers, what would you do with them? Decorate your artwork? Put one on your shirt? Make a card?...
...stick them ALL on your face?
That's totally normal, right? :)
Love it! J looked like he was having TOO much fun with the stick and the water! So cute! And LOVE the parachute! That was my favorite PE activity when I was little!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is, that looks EXHAUSTING!!! I start to sweat just reading this post. I did the hike last week without young children to help and it's tiring enough. Amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI was just waiting for the perfect opportunity ok? The time just wasn't right
