Sweet Goodbye's

This month we said goodbye to our famous/infamous Baby Home twins!
Every time a kid leaves the home, no matter how many other babies are living here, the house always feels empty without somebody. Without these crazy-silly-yelling-giggly-shrieking-alwaysintrouble-alwaysmakeuslaugh-three-year-olds, our house feels COMPLETELY different. For the first time since arriving a year and a half ago, I'm sleeping past 6am in the mornings, as my personal, living alarm clocks aren't here to get me up and at 'em.
The twins left a few weeks ago with their adopted parents, who are Bolivian and don't live terribly far from our house. We were very excited to get to visit them last week. Although they have different names and are going through some big changes, they are definitely their same, wild selves!
Here are a couple of pictures from our visit last week:

And here are some of our favorite pictures of the twins over the past year and a half!

The morning I met the twins, the Baby Home was having a big birthday party. Many of the babies at little tables were crying. "Why?" you ask...maybe because the twins were stealing everyone else's cake!

So guilty.

1 1/2 years

Such style...(that's the seat to a potty chair.)

Feeding Elmo kit-kat.

Ohhhhh the personality! :)
 ...

Who were the only 2 crying during the annual All-House photo??
...aaaaand the only two to scream during regular height/weight checks?
 ...
Haaaaahaha
But the fun doesn't stop there! Check out the excitement at their SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY:
Oh my gosh - classic face for that boy. LOVE IT.

We're 2!!! (Who cares, Savannah? There's ice cream.)

Picture perfect.

Talk about the life of the party

Being their sweet selves :)

Christmas '09. Group picture - we're missing one child. Where is she??

On the kitchen table eating the Christmas cake, of course.
Christmas 2009

Time-out. Thinking long and hard about what she did wrong.

3rd Birthday
Best party ever.

Remember earlier when I joked about them being the life of the party? These days, they really are. This girl left the Christmas party without her undies. Can't be tamed.

Dress-up!

...aaaand the opposite of dress-up is???
Streaking!

"Happy Easter, other children! While y'all are hunting eggs, I'm hunting your baskets. Suckaaas."

While the other kids played in the pool, he just wanted to take a bath. In a tiny tub. Outside. Done.

Miss this!

Playing upstairs

And my all-time fave pic of these two:
Operation Potty-Training. Game on.

Peace out, Erikos!

  1. Totally awesome post about two VERYYY memorable children!!! I've also noticed my alarm clocks are gone!! How many new children do you think it would take to replace the noise level of these two?!

PS - Can't believe I beat their mother Denise in commenting on this post... ;-)
