"It's a......."
GIRL!
Ha - we got such a fun surprise yesterday with the arrival of this newborn! And although she came dressed completely in blue, she is definitely a beautiful baby girl. She came to us from local hospital, where her mother was a victim of rape. When she arrived at the Baby Home, she wasn't 24 hours old yet...helloooo newborn. Due to some contagious skin issues at the house, we've got this girl isolated...so she's all mine for a little while. And her throwing up all over my pillow around 4am was a wonderful reminder of that news.
And couldn't help but think that she reminds me a lot of little Merry Christmas when she arrived back in September!
BUT there's more!
A few weeks ago out in a smaller village nearby, a gas unit used for the oven/stove exploded in a house, burning a mother and her two children. All three were taken to the hospital, where the mother died, leaving behind a 7-year-old girl and a 3-month-old boy. These children are half siblings, and the older sister had relatives from her half of the family who will take her in. However, because they are not blood-relatives of the little brother, they could not take him, too, and so he has come to the Baby Home. He got here yesterday, as well. One side of his face is burned, and he underwent a skin graft from his thigh. The burn looks like it is healing well, and for a few months, Spiderman here will be sporting his mask.
And very briefly unmasked!
Kristin & I each have our assigned, isolated baby...let me tell you, it's a party in this room. All the time.
Annnnd finally, we also have a 3rd new arrival to Casa de Amor - a chubby-cheeked, 1 1/2 month old little boy!
It's fun to have the house filling up. And while we're on the subject of babies, let's take a peek at all of our Under-1-Year-Olds:
3 month old boy
The ScabieBaby herself! Not quite 4 mos and looking more like Ana Maria by the day!
Honoring Tio Mateo.
Can't believe this girl's 10 months!
And last but not least, the most adorable baby in the entire world. (Not biased - fact.)
We love our little-ests!
