...CARNAVALLLLLLL!
Oh yes...that time of year again! The South American equivalent of Mardi Gras is even bigger than what we have in New Orleans. Water wars (balloons and super soakers,) start in January, and the celebrating is definitely still going on this weekend! Last weekend was the city of Cochabamba's big celebration downtown, with an all-day-long parade and spray-foam/water party. It is a crazy fun mess!
The kids made crafts at school:
Kristin, Pauline, Ana, and I downtown during the parades
The all-day-parade consists of a bunch of military groups in dance/costume competitions - some of them are really funny!

Such creativity....haaaaaaa
(When we could see them coming from a block away or so, we really thought they were standing on their heads - it was pretty awesome.)

Another traditional part of carnaval...baby home staff water wars!! hilarious is the only word to describe these episodes. Also, fun fact - i had no idea that adelaida was wearing a spiderman mask until i uploaded this picture just now.
This post dedicated to Carnaval's #1 fan, (obviously.) We missed forcing you to join in on the fun, Doc!!
