HI-eee! Waaaaycun!

That is how the English phrase, "Hi, welcome!!" was translated by 5 very excited Bolivian munchkins after spending alllll day long at the airport waiting for our VIP's to arrive!
Oh yes...Tio Alan and Tia Kwee-ya...aka Mom and Dad...came to visit!

The excitement started with Airport Trip #1 - we were all dressed and ready to head to the airport by 7am, only to arrive and realize that they had missed their connection. Sidenote - the picture above, with all 5 kids smiling and looking at the camera, is an absolute miracle. I take a ton of pictures of our kids here, and 99% of them come out much more like this one:
Someone pulling up his pants, eyes closed, someone stomping a bug, someone looking ticked, someone grabbing his crotch...no one looking at the camera. Good work, champs. Anyways, we headed home,  played outside, spilled our lunch all over our patriotic clothes, and then went back to the airport at 2pm... just to find that their flight was delayed!

Just hanging out at the airport...

Some cheap form of skittles bought us a little time with 5 little guys waiting inside!

These two didn't get stir-crazy or anything. :)

Mom and Dad did finally get here Friday evening, and we were all very excited! We had such a great (and busy,) week together...from Halloween to the Saltflats to decorating the babies' bedrooms to fun outings with the kiddos...thank y'all, thank y'all, thank y'all!

Uyuni Saltflats - getting crazy with Mama Crea

Fanta in a bag, anyone?

Obviously, we had plenty of KIDS who were excited to see these two again, too! (Well, when a big Cat-In-The-Hat costume didn't get in the way.)

Oh, and Dad accidentally dyed his hair here. No wait - only some orange-haired Irishman that I know did that.

Mom with her all-time favorite...(much to most of the tias' disbelief...HA) You may recognize this angelic face from earlier this month: http://savannahdownsouth.blogspot.com/2010/10/excommunicated.html )

Fun night with tias and our families
Everyone's already asking when you two are coming back to see us!
We love y'all!!!

  1. Hey now, Sparkies are awesome! Love the reference to our Irish friend. Love that the kids wore red, white, and, blue to the airport. Love the link to B's Excommunicated post. And I'm glad you're wearing long sleeves in at least one of the Uyuni pictures.
